I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
